Yes its great to talk about getting visitors from different sources , and hopefully long term white hat methods will win,but there not at the moment . my website is a german Golf site and I unfortunately get 75 percent of visitor from google
Golf is still small in germany and the golfers tend to be older, non internet the visitors I receive from articles on other web sites is pratically 3% and the work is amazing, my competion dont use white hat methods and I try but its difficult

With the advent and firm establishment of Web2.0 technology, people driven websites are a rage nowadays. The first step would be to create your profiles on leading Web2.0 sites and start adding your content, with links leading back to your primary website, of course.

I've noticed a lot of people are hesitant to get started testing. So right now I'm having a special on multivariate testing at my site. I set it up for you and run it monthly. Check it out if you'd like.

Cheers,
Stephen

Stephen,

Your point is a good one. Different traffic can convert differently. Traffic can change sources from week to week as well. However good information can still be had from using this method. It is not ideal but is much better than not testing. The other benefit is that it requires no software setup.

I have not used your software. I am going to try it out. If it is easy to set up, then it is the way to go.

That's good, I like that. But one problem could be the traffic source. Traffic from different sources converts differently, so if your traffic varied from week to week you wouldn't get an accurate result. A real time split test can prevent that. And my split test software is pretty easy to set up, and free: http://www.easysplittest.com
